Parks Victoria are seeking a dedicated and motivated policy and governance officer to provide specialist local port governance advice and oversight of risk management assessment and guidance across the Southern and Maritime Region.

About the role

As the Port and Maritime Governance Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk assessment process and maintaining the Safety and Environment Management Plan to meet legislative requirements. You are an effective communicator with the ability to research, analyse and provide advice to a multi-disciplinary team.

You will have knowledge of legislation and policy, a highly developed capability to apply this understanding to changing recreational and commercial uses on the local port and waterways.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience in the successful delivery of risk management programs
  • Working knowledge of land and/or waterway management legislation and application.
  • A tertiary qualification in business, or similar is required
  • Strong written and verbal, presentation and communication skills, including leading stakeholder and community engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing team performance
