What You Will Be Doing

Undergraduate students completing the Diploma of Nursing will be eligible to be employed as PQEN employee in bed-based and community-based mental health services.

The PQEN works as an assistant to the health care team, assisting the Registered Nurses to provide delegated aspects of consumer care. Elements of direct and indirect consumer care will be delegated in accordance with the professional judgement of the supervising Registered Nurse and in accordance with the level of achieved educational preparation and assessed competence of the individual PQEN.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
• Current enrolment in a Diploma of Nursing program.
• Registered as a student nurse with AHPRA with no conditions or undertakings.
• Strong interest in mental health and well-being and considering a career in mental health nursing.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work as a team member and contribute to team decisions, as well as the willingness to take advice and direction.
