About the role:

Are you ready to shape the future of Victoria Police?

The Principal Architect (Enterprise) is responsible for developing strategies and roadmaps to inform how Victoria Police can most effectively achieve its current and future objectives through information, communications and digital technology. The position reports to the Director of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and works collaboratively with all Divisions across the Information, Systems and Security Command. The role has one direct report.

This role will work in a professional, highly dynamic and established team of ICT professionals and will regularly engage with frontline business units across Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks and roadmaps,
  • Identifying technology-enabled innovation opportunities that respond to global and business drivers and enable business strategy,
  • Developing and applying standards and minimal viable architectures through the enterprise architecture governance model,
  • Leading and facilitating interaction with business leaders, product managers and product owners on the strategic direction for Victoria Police technology,
  • Leading analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improvement.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Extensive experience working in business, information, solution or technical architecture.
  • A strong and diverse background in delivering results in information, communications and digital technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of ICT and business stakeholders and bring diverse groups together to achieve shared objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate the complexity of government to achieve results and obtain support.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to a dynamic and rapidly changing environment with flexibility.
  • Resilience and creativity to deal with resistance and identify innovative solutions.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to articulate a vision and present information in compelling ways.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • The position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre (VPC), 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
