Role: Principal Epidemiologist, Reporting and Portfolio Projects (Role until - 30 June 2021)

Position Summary: 

  • Situated within the Reporting & Portfolio Projects (RAPP) team, the Principal Epidemiologist position plays a critical role in providing the knowledge and expertise of the CRM data across the multiple teams and areas of the Public Health Response for COVID. Linking up teams ensuring that there is broad visibility and understanding of the work occurring across works alongside the leadership team to achieve Data, Intelligence, Modelling and Epidemiology (DIME) Branch objectives
  • Engages to understand and deliver on DIME requirements
  • Provides technical epidemiological advice and support to the DIME Branch and external stakeholders
  • Works across the DIME B ranch to ensure consistency across data and reporting
  • Provides technical advice to support all ad hoc data and information requests that come through the Public Health Intelligence inbox.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to all teams across the DIME Branch
  • Engage with the DIME & RAPP leadership group to ensure any data and reporting changes are documented and communicated appropriately
  • Engage with and support teams across (DIME) Branch with their reporting to ensure reporting product s are accurate and consistent
  • Provide advice on how to answer specific questions with the data available to the DIME team
  • Work with the leadership group and External Data Liaison role to coordinate with the Commonwealth Government and other external public health stakeholders on surveillance methods and reporting.
  • Oversee regular data quality audits to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Promote and drive ongoing improvements to data quality and processes.
  • Collaborate with the leadership group to manage complex or contentious information that requires stakeholder engagement
  • Work with the appropriate lead roles to develop and maintain data collection, data reporting, and notification workflows for visibility across the DIME Branch.
