Private Patient Liaison Officer


Admin Grade 1 (HS1)

Fixed Term Part Time

(38 hrs per fortnight)

Parental Leave Replacement 

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dedicated Finance Team as a Private Patient Liaison Officer. This temporary part time position is available for an immediate start and includes working between Monday and Friday. The successful applicant will provide advice and information on the process and procedures for private patients and is responsible for the billing to private health funds. Key Selection Criteria include:


  • Clerical and administrative experience in an office environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to communicate with sensitivity, discretion, empathy and understanding with patients, their families, carers and team members
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving skills to enable investigation and resolution of the needs and problems within the private patient service
  • Excellent customer services skills including a pleasant and courteous phone manner
  • Proven ability to work to strict timelines and work effectively with colleagues from multidisciplinary fields
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in a broad range of software programs
  • Attention to detail


  • Experience in the health sector
  • An understanding of the private health industry
  • Experience with private health funds
  • Business administration or accounting qualifications
  • Knowledge of TAC and/or Workcover processes
  • An advanced knowledge of private health insurance requirements and procedures
