About us

Technology Solutions (TS) provides Information Technology (IT) services and solutions to the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).  TS supports the DJCS vision of ‘a justice and community safety system that works together to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria' through the effective management of technology innovation, value, risk and performance quality. TS is a business unit within the Corporate Governance and Support (CGaS) Division of DJCS and delivers its services to all Divisions across the DJCS portfolio.

Technology Solutions also provides specialist expertise for high-risk and high-value projects, and is responsible for the technical planning, management, and support of projects on behalf of other departmental business units.

About the role

Situated within the Program Control Office (PCO) for the NextGen Program, the Program Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of NextGen Program performance reporting. Operating as a cross functional, Agile team, this role will operate collaboratively to strengthen other core PCO capabilities and meet overall program control objectives.

In this role you will:

  • Establish standardised Project Controls reporting and analytics solutions to drive best reporting and analytics practices for the NextGen Program.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of standard Project Controls dashboards, using business intelligence tools for efficient, consistent reporting.
  • Work with the delivery teams' team to develop data-based reporting solutions, workflows, reporting structures and information capture processes. Identify problem process areas, optimise, and where possible facilitate automation.
  • Monitor and measure effectiveness of program reporting processes, and the quality and accuracy of program reporting solutions to ensure consistent value delivery.
  • Utilise Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) metrics to measure, evaluate and report on program outcomes, flow, and competency towards achievement of key objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance against key performance indicators, analyse various project data sets to produce accurate, concise, and logically presented project reports, presentations, and briefings to provide program performance visibility to program management, program governance bodies and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage all program reporting obligations and undertake routine program status reporting including, but not limited to, governance reports, project status reports & dashboards, external and public facing project health reports.

About you

Along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as our ideal candidate you will have:

  • 5-10 years' experience in Project Reporting and sound knowledge of Project Controls principles
  • Experience using Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience working in dynamic agile environment that is subject to fast pace of change and IT projects is preferable
  • Proven knowledge of, and experience in participating in a range of iterative, incremental and agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification Information Technology, Data Sciences or demonstrated equivalent professional experience desirable.
  • Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, e.g. Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management, would be highly regarded.
