This position is a fixed-term position for 12 months.

The Project Analyst's main responsibilities are:


  • Undertaking technical and administrative analysis of documentation supplied by participants for product applications


  • Undertaking the technical and statistical assessment of documentation supplied by program participants for project-based activities (PBA) projects in line with agreed PBA assessment criteria and evidentiary requirements


  • Undertaking the technical and administrative assessment of documentation supplied by applicants of other activities as required (such as gas efficiency activities)


  • Managing small, team-specific projects, for example performance testing of products


  • Participation in larger, VEU projects, for example regulation changes


  • Document management, drafting and review
  • Working effectively with minimum guidance as part of multi-disciplinary teams established to support the administration of the VEU program and to meet the requirements of the commission's overall work program


  • Maintaining productive relationships with program participants, commission and government personnel to ensure the objectives of the schemes are achieved


  • Other duties as required.

The expectation for this role is that the majority of time will be spent undertaking PBA and product assessments with a smaller portion of time devoted to other activities.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:

  • undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters.
