About the role

The Labor Government is investing $235 million to build Victoria’s Recovery Workforce to create 500 new jobs across mental health, family violence, health, and child protection. New accelerated training pathways and internships will be generated for around 875 people, growing the pipeline of workers so Victorians have access to the support they need as we recover from this pandemic.  In mental health this includes $1.9M in 2020-21 for the creation and expansion of a mental health pre-qualification employment programs for students of nursing (Registered nurse and Enrolled nurse), allied health (Social work, Occupational therapy and Psychology) and Medicine into Victoria’s Specialist mental health services.

The pre-qualification employment program provides opportunities for Victoria’s public specialist mental health services to develop and implement entry level career strategies and workforce models to meet future workforce supply requirements across all clinical disciplines

Eastern Health were successful applicants for this funded program and require a Project Lead to achieve the key deliverables.   The purpose of the Project Lead role will scope, develop and coordinate the project, taking into consideration the key factors required to deliver the project in the specific discipline area the service is positioned in. Key roles will include program development, recruitment and onboarding of the professional positions, operational and administrative duties and evaluation of the program.   

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Hold a Bachelor and/or Masters Qualification in health related profession (Allied Health) with registration though Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) or eligibility for membership in relevant professional body or a registered nurse and appropriate qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing.

  • Have Extensive clinical experience, working with novice learners

  • Have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously with excellent organisational, critical thinking, problem solving, and time management and prioritisation skills

  • Have demonstrated competence in a leadership role, with the ability to unite teams to achieve common objectives

  • Have project development and recruitment experience

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel)

  • Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Exhibit behaviour which reflects the Eastern Health values
