About us

The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) has been established to design, procure, build and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe. CSBA has three business units - the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Major Projects and Program Delivery.

The Major Project group has significant capability and expertise in this area and is currently responsible for the delivery of several major infrastructure procurement projects on behalf of portfolio clients within the department.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the key responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage, under direction, the implementation of major capital works. This role will also assist with the procurement and management of allocated construction projects. Some of your main responsibilities in this role will include:

  • effectively liaising with stakeholders, consultants and contractors onsite throughout project delivery, including appropriate consultation on design functionality, facility operations and transition issues
  • managing the delivery of agreed projects to program and budget, within agreed policy, project specification and budget parameters
  • delivering civil construction projects in accordance with relevant financial legislation and department policies.

Please note this is a fixed term, full time position for 12 months. 

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated experience in project management and delivery preferably in infrastructure based projects
  • strong negotiation and problem solving abilities
  • superior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to create lasting relationships in order to broker shared solutions in new areas.
