Project Manager, Child Employment Amendments

The Wage Inspectorate Victoria (Wage Inspectorate) is an independent statutory authority which enforces Victorian employment laws covering child employment, long service leave, and independent contractors in the transport and forestry sectors, and wage theft.

The Project Manager, Child Employment Amendments is responsible the establishment and implementation new regulatory and licencing functions within Wage Inspectorate. The Project Manager will lead a team and co-ordinate SME input into the design of the Child Employment Licensing Scheme, as well as the Wage Inspectorate's regulatory approach to enforcing amended Child Employment Legislation, including the Child Safe Standards.

The role is responsible for defining and managing all project activities and milestones, undertaking detailed funding model implementation planning, and liaising with senior management on implementation issues and requirements, reporting through to a Project Management Board and ultimately ensuring Wage Inspectorate is operationally ready to deliver its new legislative responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the workings of government including procurement and probity. The role requires organisational and project management acumen, effective relationship building across a variety of stakeholders and strong attention to detail.

The successful candidate will work effectively as a member of a team and enjoy flexible working arrangements, as well as hybrid ways of working.
