About us

The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) has been established to design, procure, build and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe. CSBA has three business units - the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Major Projects and Program Delivery.

The Major Project group has significant capability and expertise in this area and is currently responsible for the delivery of several major infrastructure procurement projects on behalf of portfolio clients within the department.

About the role

The Project Officer will contribute to a variety of complex construction projects, including major business initiatives, the procurement of contracted services and products, investment proposals, and infrastructure projects.

This role will be responsible for preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on project status, contributing to risk and issue management, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in and facilitating project meetings, and preparation of a range of project documents.

Please note this is a fixed term, full time position until 1 March 2022.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated expertise or knowledge of the principles and processes of project procurement and contract management, project lifecycle stages and project management software
  • superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders in order to develop and negotiate innovative solutions to complex issues
  • excellent problem solving and organisation skills.

Relevant project management qualifications or equivalent experience is desirable.
