POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Officer works within the events team and is responsible for supporting the Senior Events role to deliver hundreds of events a year – from high-level meetings and impactful training sessions and workshops, to in-person and virtual national and international conferences. In addition, this position will be responsible for organising branding and marketing collateral for upcoming projects.

The successful candidate will be skilled in planning, promoting, executing and evaluating a great event, demonstrating constant professionalism– no matter the size nor audience. The applicant would have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. 

  • Planning and organising – Develop, plan, deliver and evaluate complex, large scale projects to a high quality -aligned with business objectives. Identifies and secures resource requirements and anticipates and addresses barriers to achievement.
  • Written Communication – Produces high quality event and communication documentation such as communications plans, email invitations, event briefs and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; edits written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meets audience needs; ensures appropriate style and formats are used.
  • Verbal communication – Verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders, customers, peers, managers and subordinates is vital to ensure a common understanding of information, issues and concepts.
  • Stakeholder management – Establishes relationships with high profile external stakeholders, develops effective stakeholder-oriented responses, and assesses, develops and negotiates innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Conflict management – Uses conflict situations to probe for underlying issues while establishing mutual trust and respect and assisting others to look at alternatives and guiding them towards an effective solution both for the individual and the work area
