Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety (the Department). The Department, through the Secretary, employs EMV staff and provides corporate functions to EMV. EMV is led jointly by the Chief Executive and the Emergency Management Commissioner.

Project Officer

The Project Officer works with the Project Manager and the executive office team to lead and support various projects based on needs and priorities as identified by the Emergency Management Commissioner.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Prepare clear and detailed project reports/strategies, briefs, correspondence, policy advice and recommendations on complex issues, undertaking relevant research and analysis, for internal and external stakeholders at peer, senior and executive levels.
  • Design and develop project/program scopes that clearly define project outcomes based on priorities identified by the Emergency Management Commissioner.
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and focus on understanding key expectations, needs and issues for shared approaches and constructive outcomes.
