THE ROLE

The Housing Growth and Commercial Development Branch has a VPS4 Project Officer role available across the Community Housing and Commercial Development Units. The role contributes to a variety of complex projects at the development, delivery, business case and transaction phases for new social and affordable housing.
The Project Officer will be responsible for proactively supporting and coordinating key transactions, administrative and monitoring activities required to execute funding agreements, undertake finance analysis of proposals, processing of payments and contributing to risk and issue management, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in and facilitating meetings, and preparation of a range of project documents including business cases and support for other investment decisions. Ideally you will have demonstrated experience in proactively managing and coordinating multiple project outcomes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

1. Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:

(a)  Assisting in research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.

(b)  Supporting the development and delivery of projects or sub-projects and their successful delivery and completion within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters. 

(c)  Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.

2. Assist in providing support to Senior team members and Managers in providing advice to stakeholders and assisting in the preparation and presentation of reports, Powerpoint presentations,  ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on a range of matters.

3. Manage the procurement of small projects and engagements, ensuring they are completed on time and on budget to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
