STATUS: Fixed Term until 16/10/2022

HOURS: Part Time 24.0 hours per fortnight

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen at BRHS to utilise your clinical experience in a rewarding project role which will offer you challenge, variety and accomplishment.

The Position:

The Gippsland Regional Integrated Cancer Services (GRICS) Service Improvement Grant initiative enables a review of current Oncology Pharmacy resources and systems available to meet the current and future demands of the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre (GCCC) medical hub and spoke model.  The Project Officer will perform this review to identify optimal pharmacy staffing and the required resources to optimise systems performance and maximise efficiency. This project aligns to the Victorian Cancer action Plan 2020-2024.

The Unit:

The BRHS Oncology Day Unit provides care to patients in association with the GCCC Oncologist and Haematologist team. It includes Medical Ambulatory day Unit (MADU) patients who are managed by the Internal Medicine Unit (IMU) team and dispensing and manufacture of SACT is coordinated by the BRHS pharmacy.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, and/or demonstrated relevant health experience
  • An understanding of chemotherapy  day units & pharmacy requirements for both systemic & oral treatments
  • Clinical or other experience working in a oncology department of a health service
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to facilitate an environment of change
  • Demonstrated project skills including development of new policies, project reporting and reliability in meeting deadlines
