  • Fixed Term, Maternity leave position to 1/2/2021

  • 34 hours per week over four days

The Position: 


The Orthotic and Prosthetic Unit at RCH seeks a part time Grade 3 Prosthetist for this leadership position in the unit. The prosthetic caseload is interesting and challenging, with the opportunity to provide innovative solutions for complex patients. 

Responsibilities include clinical leadership in prosthetic practice and decision making and management of a prosthetic caseload, undergraduate and community education, professional supervision, and the continued development and fostering of a risk management culture in the unit.



The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and leadership in the prosthetic management of children and young people aged from birth to 18 years with a limb difference. They will be responsible for coordinating the Prosthetic clinical and technical team to deliver high standard prosthetic services in a timely and effective manner.  They will continue to develop the VALP and NDIS programs for prosthetic provision by RCH and our external providers.  This will include being the central point of contact for patients and participants, and internal and external stake holders.

Requirements include excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve to provide effective solutions for complex patients and a commitment to quality and improvement.  Applicants will also demonstrate experience in P&O clinical program development, consultancy and clinical leadership skills. Participation in the AOPA CPD program is essential
