Clinical Nurse Specialist

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Flynn team on a Fixed term Part Time Basis.

Reporting to the Flynn Nurse Unit Manager this role plays an important role in leading specialist nurse interventions in the inpatient setting. This position will provide advice, support and mentoring in relation to clinical practice, and provide provision of a safe working environment at Latrobe Regional Hospital.

The successful applicant will:

  • Commited to appropriate inpatient based treatment for people with a psychiatric illness, encluding recovery frameworks and the reduction of seclusion and restraint practices.

  • Commited ot ongoing professional training and development 

  • Working knowledge of the Occupassional Health and Safety Act (1985)

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Mental Health Act 1996

The Flynn Unit provides care for people aged between 16- 65 years delivering acute treatment and recovery based interventions. The 31 bed Unit consists of:

  • 23 Adult Low Dependency beds

  • 2 Child and Adolescent beds

  • 6 HDAU beds
