ABOUT THE ROLE:
An opportunity to join a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team providing recovery focused care to consumers experiencing mental illness. - Permanent Full-time Role - 5 days per week, with potential for job share if preferred
- Clinical Psychologist – P3, or P2 Psychologist ready to step up to a more senior position
- Provide quality mental health and discipline specific, client centred assessment, formulation and treatment.
- Provide evidence based therapeutic support to clients with a range of mental health diagnoses including mood, anxiety, psychosis and personality disorders.
- Facilitate therapy specific and recovery oriented groups for clients and work with the team to identify clients requiring specific supports.
- Be a key member of a thriving and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Offer consultation to the team and facilitate service linkages.
- Opportunity to contribute to service development and therapy group development.
- Provide supervision to P2 psychologists.
- Receive supervision from the P4 Psychologist.
- Be consumer recovery focused care with consumers, inclusive of carers / families.
ABOUT YOU:
- A current AHPRA Registration as a Psychologist and endorsed as Clinical Psychologist.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve effectively.
- Knowledge in different evidence based therapeutic techniques.
- Knowledge of different referral pathways for clients requiring short- and long-term supports.
- A good working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014 and relevant legislation.
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid or willing to participate in the vaccination program.

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in southwest metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
