Position Summary:

Public Health Officer/Contact Tracing position will utilise your skills in relation to the investigation, surveillance, management and control of COVID-19. This job offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to further develop experience and skills in public health. 

The role requires shift and weekend work. For health and safety reasons, successful candidates may be requested to cease external clinical duties for the duration of their tenure in the role. 

Role until - 31 March 2022

Location – 50 Lonsdale St, Melbourne & Work from home


This position utilises skills and experience in relation to the investigation, management and control of COVID-19. The position provides technical support, advice and professional guidance on public health issues and projects to members Case, Contact & Outbreak management teams as well as members of the public. The role contributes to the development and implementation of operational protocols, management guidelines and training resources to colleagues and external stakeholders on the response to COVID-19.


A tertiary degree in health science, nursing, medicine or related public health field. A post graduate qualification in public health, environmental science or public policy would be desirable.


Clinical staff must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) on the public register or the pandemic sub-register

Public health professionals will need eligibility for membership of the Environmental Health Professionals of Australia (EHPRA) coupled with knowledge and experience in public health theory and practice.
