An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiasticPublic Health Registrars to join theNorth East Public Health Unit (NEPHU) commencing September 2021.


Details of position:



  • Three (2) Public Health Registrar positions available

  • Hours per week:  43

  • Employment Status:  Full time, Fixed-term


As a member of the North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU), the Public Health Registrar will be a key part of the team undertaking end-to-end management of cases, contacts and outbreaks of COVID-19 in the NEPHU catchment. The Public Health Registrar will also participate in epidemiological investigations, community engagement opportunities and projects relevant to COVID-19. As the unit’s functions broadens there will be opportunities to undertake a wider range of public health practice, including responsive activity, research, and projects.


To be successful for this role you must:



  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Must meet eligibility requirements to enter Advanced Training in Public Health Medicine or be an existing Advanced Trainee in Public Health Medicine

  • Demonstrate a commitment to high quality care of patients and the community

  • Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, nursing and other staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum of public health, and
