An exciting opportunity exists within Enterprise Information Services Branch, School Administration Unit in the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) for a fixed term Quality Assurance/Business Analyst (VPS3).

Quality Assurance/Business Analyst | Ongoing / Full Time

IMTD provides innovative and integrated ICT Systems and information management services and support. The function of the Enterprise Information Services Branch is to provide and support innovative and integrated IMT environments used in schools, corporate offices and across the Department that enhance business practices, leading to improved learning and development outcomes.

The function of the School Administration Unit is to;

• Provide application lifecycle management of the CASES21 management application used by all schools.
• Evaluate and deliver student and school administration process, data and/or system change items.
• Provide CASES21 and software testing expertise and services.
• Plan and deliver training and support services for school administration processes and systems for all schools.
• Evaluate and deliver requests for access to CASES21 student and school data.

The position sits within the Student Admin Quality & Operations team and has a strong focus on school systems including CASES21 functions and process.

The Quality Assurance/Business Analyst will:

• perform software quality assurance and testing activities to ensure delivery of quality systems to clients.
• be expected to understand integrated IT systems to undertake effective testing, and to contribute to business systems analysis.
• be expected to contribute to business requirements analysis and preparation, with guidance and mentoring from senior members of the team.

Key desired skills, experience and qualifications required for this role are:

• Experience in software testing using industry standard methodologies and tools, e.g. Jira, Xray.
• Experience or knowledge of waterfall and agile software development methodologies, predominantly from a testing and analysis perspective.
• Be detail focused with a good level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to plan and organise a set of tasks to ensure delivery to agree timeframes and quality.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline would be highly valued.
