MDHS is offering a traineeship for a radiographer undertaking post graduate study in Ultrasound. Study leave, exam leave and assistance with course costs will be provided, along with ongoing employment upon graduation. This is a great opportunity for a qualified Radiographer, undertaking post-graduate qualifications in Ultrasound, to join our Medical Imaging Department and be supported through your training. In this role, you will be responsible for performing some radiographic examinations as required, along with your Ultrasound training.

MDHS services the Central Goldfields and Pyrenees Shire with campuses in Avoca, Dunolly and Maryborough. MDHS Medical Imaging also provides imaging services to the East Wimmera Health Service at St Arnaud. Radiographer/Trainee Sonographer

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Trainee Sonographer Grade 1/2 (according to experience)

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021

MDHS is offering a traineeship for a radiographer undertaking post graduate study in Ultrasound. Study leave, exam leave and assistance with course costs will be provided, along with ongoing employment upon graduation.  This is a great opportunity for a qualified Radiographer, undertaking post-graduate qualifications in Ultrasound, to join our Medical Imaging Department and be supported through your training. In this role, you will be responsible for performing some radiographic examinations as required, along with your Ultrasound training.

Our department is equipped with two Siemens Acuson S2000 units and performs most US studies except, at this stage, interventional studies. MDHS will assist in providing experience in any specialties not conducted on-site through placements at specialist centres.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Diploma, degree or equivalent qualification in Medical Imaging that will allow registration with the Medical Radiation Practitioners Board and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ( AHPRA)
  2. Undertaking a post-graduate course un Sonography
  3. Eligible to be a member of the Australian Institute of Radiography
  4. Victorian Government Radiation Use Licence

Specialist Expertise

  1. Experience in the general operation of a Medical Imaging Department
  2. Ability to perform a wide range of Medical Imaging examinations
  3. Understanding of current operational practices
  4. Ability to accept change and use it to benefit the Department
  5. Willingness to liaise with Referring Practitioners and the Community

  1. Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  2. Commitment to personal and professional development
  3. Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
