The Western Basalt District comprises a diversity of cultural and environmental assets including the Brisbane Ranges National Park, Lerderderg and Werribee Gorge State Parks, You Yangs Regional Park, Steiglitz Historic Park, Serendip Sanctuary, Lake Connewarre State Game Reserve, Mt Buangor State Park, Enfield State Park, Woowookarung Regional Park, Hepburn Regional Park and numerous other reserves. The District manages over 50,000 hectares with over 900,000 visitors per year, offering a range of passive and active recreational opportunities in diverse settings.
About the role and your responsibilities:
As a Ranger in Bacchus Marsh, your primary focus is to plan for, and deliver, in park services as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. You will undertake activities requiring a level of environmental and service expertise and you will be accountable for personal performance.
As a Ranger, you must demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and actively participate in a team environment ensuring that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success. You will need to be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.
