Two exciting opportunities available to provide ongoing delivery of the Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park visitor site servicing program within the East Gippsland District!

  • Two ongoing, part time (0.7 FTE) positions available  

About the role:  

You will deliver in park services as directed by the Ranger Team Leader to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan.  You will deliver on-going park services to the Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park visitor site servicing program within the East Gippsland District. Most of these sites are only accessible by boat.

You will be accountable for personal performance and demonstrate a strong personal work ethic. You will actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success. You will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times. You may be required to work rostered weekends where they are remunerated through the payment of a Rostered Weekend Allowance (annual allowance of their substantive base salary). 

We're looking for someone with:

  • Coxswain accreditation is highly desirable. Minimal accreditation requirement is for operations on sheltered waters with an outboard vessel.
  • Ability to safely operate vessels in the Gippsland Lakes environment.
  • Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment and tools.

Staff working within the Eastern Victoria Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.
