About the role

The Claims and Recovery Support division has been created within WorkSafe to focus on supporting the recovery and the social and work participation of injured workers. This division will be transforming how we provide support and service to injured workers to improve the outcomes they achieve. As part of this, we will help shape the future Recovery Service Model for the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme.

Our division's focus is on providing a contemporary, person centred approach to partner with our workers to support them achieving their recovery and return to life goals.

The Claims and Recovery Support Coordinator is a pivotal role within the Claims and Recovery Support division that supports Victorians who have been injured at work in achieving their recovery and return to life goals.

As the successful candidate you will

• Manage your own portfolio of injured workers, taking a holistic view of their situation, considering their biopsychosocial factors and adopting a person-centred case management approach to support their recovery
• Develop trusted relationships with injured workers and their support networks (e.g., family, health providers etc)
• Meet and visit injured workers as required and develop recovery goals and plans to achieve them
• Assist injured workers and their support network in navigating the workers compensation scheme.
• Collaborate across the division and WorkSafe Victoria to help shape the future Recovery Service Model for the Victorian Compensation scheme.

About you

You have a successful track record in case management and have a genuine interest in your client's well-being and journey to achieve their goals. You are a people person and can deal with ambiguity and can change your communication style to suit an individual. You take a holistic view of your workers situations, addressing biopsychosocial factors and adopting a person centred approach to support improved outcomes. Additionally, you are motivated to transform the way services are delivered to injured Victorian workers.

• 2 years' experience of case management skills within a personal injury, health, social services, rehabilitation, medical or disability context
• High level of professional resilience
• Ability to build rapport and empathy with injured workers and their support networks
• Ability to handle challenging situations and to act a professional and responsive manner
• Effective communication, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills

Qualifications (Highly Desirable)

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in case management, rehabilitation, nursing, allied health, occupational rehabilitation, disability, social services or other relevant field
• Valid Victorian Driver's License
