A new full time (part time considered) permanent position as a Senior Clinician is available at Saltwater Clinic. Located in the heart of Footscray, you will work in a recently refurbished building with great access to public transport and diverse local food. You will be part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary community team, who work with people experiencing mental health problems living within the Maribyrnong and Hobson’s Bay areas.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Clinician works within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing recovery support. Clinical services are provided across all mental illnesses. Working closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist, this role is integral as a role model and champion of best practice for the clinical team.  Duties include intervention and management planning, supporting other clinicians’ development and understanding of supervision and mentoring. Clinical governance is provided by weekly clinical review meetings.

ABOUT YOU:

  • An AHPRA Registration Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurses would also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Practice (Mental Health) or; a Social Worker with a recognised degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership for the Association of Australian Social Workers.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • The ability to think critically and problem solve effectively
  • A good working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014 and relevant legislation
  • Good leadership skills and be able support the CMHT Manager, Team Leader and Clinical Seniors within the CMHT
  • An ability to engage with the culturally and linguistically local community in our catchment area and willingness to hold the transcultural portfolio highly desirable
  • Experience in managing a case load of clients experiencing a diverse range of diagnosis
  • A current valid Victorian Driver’s License

Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
