  • Your contribution will enable the successful recovery of large forest and park areas across the Wombat Macedon area in Central Victoria

The Recovery Planning Coordinator supports the District Managers in prioritising recovery activities and programs within the district. The position is responsible for engaging across districts and with partner agencies to identify issues and develop works plans to manage risk. The position will ensure an integrated and risk-based approach to emergency stabilisation and early recovery across impacted public land. The position will also ensure processes are in place to manage and protect biodiversity and cultural heritage values.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in natural resource management, with good knowledge of road maintenance and repair, and forest management
  • Current manual Victorian driver's licence (Mandatory)
  • An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of projects on public land.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on complex projects with multiple partners / stakeholders.
  • Successfully pass a DELWP fire-fighter medical and task-based assessment to the standard appropriate to the relevant fire role. (Mandatory)
  • Relevant local knowledge and understanding of the communities in the region is desirable.

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2022. The location for this position is negotiable within the Grampians Region.
