  • Are you experienced in Roading and Procurement who likes to work in dynamic environments?
  • This role requires you to work as part of the recovery team in collaboration with recovery partners
  • Your contribution will enable the successful recovery of large forest and park areas across the Wombat Macedon area in Central Victoria

The Recovery Project Officer – Roading and Procurement is responsible for coordinating the process required to assess and re-open the extensive forest track network affected by the storm event within the Wombat-Macedon area. This includes hazardous tree assessment, contractor procurement and management, works crew supervision, and stakeholder engagement. The role must be performed in strict adherence to departmental and industry occupational health and safety standards and procurement requirements.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in natural resource management, with good knowledge of road maintenance and repair, and forest management
  • Current manual Victorian driver's licence (Mandatory)
  • An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent (Desirable)
  • Successfully pass a DELWP fire-fighter medical and task-based assessment to the standard appropriate to the relevant fire role. (Mandatory)
  • Relevant local knowledge and understanding of the communities in the Grampians region is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022. The location of this position is negotiable within the Grampians Region.
