Our journey


In 2017 Monash Health established a centralised recruitment team to support our Nursing and Midwifery Managers with hiring the best available talent into our wide-ranging health service.  The team has done a fabulous job in supporting our hiring managers and in February 2023 we'll be opening Australia's first dedicated cardiac hospital, the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH), located near Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.



One of our team is currently seconded to coordinate recruitment for the VHH and we're looking for a highly motivated recruitment professional to cover her secondment.  In addition, we have an opportunity to join the VHH recruitment team, recruiting and appointing nurses to the new VHH.



In either of these positions you would be working collaboratively with our hiring managers in sourcing and selecting the best available nursing talent to join Monash Health, either to the VHH or to other specified areas of our organisation.  Both positions will be appointed on a fixed term basis, until end February 2023.



Both full time and part time hours (minimum four days per week) can be considered.  Based in Kingston, with subsidised on-site car parking, we have some flexibility around your working days and we operate a hybrid working model, offering a mix of working from home and on site.

A day in the life

You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with managers across our large, complex health service. Your work will include:



  • Applying effective sourcing and selection practices into your specified stakeholder groups;

  • Conducting candidate screening and interviews (virtual and face to face) and assisting with selection decisions;

  • Sharing existing or developing new recruitment resources including advertisements and interview guides;

  • Advising and guiding hiring managers on other elements of selection such as reference checking, candidate communications and local induction; and  

  • Managing recruitment activity through our Applicant Tracking System.


As part of a small, close-knit team, and depending on your stakeholders' needs, you'll be responsible for any or all of the end-to-end recruitment activities.  This is a great chance to be part of supporting a highly visible project, or continuing to secure the best available nutsing talent for our diverse health service.

You bring



  • Demonstrated recruitment experience, ideally gained in agency and/or a large, fast-paced environment

  • Flexibility to respond quickly to changing needs and priorities

  • Strong relationship building skills, and a positive, “can do” approach

  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing and problem resolution skills

  • Aa proactive, organised and energetic approach to your work and a dedication to continuous improvement

  • Sense of humour and an ability to laugh at yourself


Previous experience facilitating assessment centres will be highly regarded.



Recruitment experience in healthcare is not mandatory; we’ll readily help you learn what you need.  More important is your passion for recruitment, your positive attitude and sustained energy that will see you fit seamlessly into our high performing team.



You’ll need a current Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable car enabling travel across Monash Health sites.
