About the branch

The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. Regional resources support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Regional Area of Work Coordinator (Environment, Land and Water) you will be responsible for all aspects of delivery of Environment, Land and Water (ELW) functions within the region.  This includes delivery planning, financial and resource management (human resources, facilities, assets, systems and staff training and development) in accordance with Parks Victoria's policies, procedures and objectives. 

You will be required to work across the region based on the specific delivery of their functional responsibilities. You will lead, support and manage Parks Victoria operations and resources within defined functions to deliver cost effective, timely, quality and appropriate range of services to meet the requirements of the Regional Annual Plan. You will contribute to and assist in the development, implementation and review of District Operations to enable Parks Victoria to match service delivery with community and stakeholder needs to ensure optimum performance. Your position will clearly and concisely communicate functional objectives and delivery plans with the District Managers and Area Chief Rangers negotiating key delivery milestones. You are responsible for ensuring team members are well informed of functional delivery requirements and have the necessary skills and knowledge regarding functional outputs to be able to provide local advice as required.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in multiple portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated experience in provision of expert and technical advice and support.
  • Tertiary qualification in Science or Business or equivalent is desirable.
  • A current Employee Working with Children check is required.
