Access Quality Teaching initiative - 4 part-time roles

Fixed term, part-time 0.5 FTE until 31/12/2023

The Victorian Government aims to break the cycle between socio-economic disadvantage and learning outcomes.
To reduce the impact of disadvantage on student outcomes, the Department of Education is working to provide equitable access to high-quality education for all government school students in particular children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who are at a greater risk of poorer educational outcomes than their peers.
The Department currently manages a suite of programs and schemes as Education State initiatives, including the Excellence in Teacher Education Reforms and Targeted Initiatives to Attract More Teachers.

The Access Quality Teaching initiative is a systems approach to preparing effective teachers to work in disadvantaged schools and addressing the wider need to attract and recruit high-performing teachers in disadvantaged and diverse communities, including regional and rural schools.

Regional Coordinators will work within their region as program partners to both low-SES schools and Initial Teacher Education providers ensuring that pre-service teachers are placed in low-ICSEA schools with experienced mentor teachers. Regional Coordinators will assist with arranging the placements for participating students into eligible schools with a 5-year average ICSEA rating of less than 1000.

There are four Regional Coordinator roles available, please specify which role you are applying for in your application.

  • North East Victoria Region
  • South East Victoria Region
  • North West Victoria Region
  • South West Victoria Region

Please be advised that the shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Psychometric assessment before moving to the Interview stage.
