About the branch:

The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies. Staff working within the region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response. 

About the role and your responsibilities:

As the Regional Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of information, interpretation and education (II &E) within the Western Region. You are responsible for ensuring all visitor information, interpretation and education programs and projects in the region are delivered to best-practice standards and in accordance with Parks Victoria policies, procedures and objectives. You will provide guidance and advice to regional staff and manage quality assurance for the development and delivery of printed and online park information for visitors and education and interpretation projects and programs. You will coordinate the development and delivery of regional visitor information projects and materials, including signage, park notes, other printed materials and online updates. In this role, you will be required to work across the region based on the specific delivery of their functional responsibilities. 

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Tertiary Diploma qualification in Science, Business and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in engagement and stakeholder management is required.
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check is required.
