About the branch

Northern Region forms part of the Operations Division and is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and support fire and emergency management. Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Region's Annual Plan, the requirements of the Division's statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

The Regional Operations Team is responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Regional Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating regional involvement regarding the planning and delivery of defined projects under Parks Victoria Economic Stimulus program within Northern Region – specifically the Murray River Adventure Trail. This includes delivery planning, financial and resource management (human resources, facilities, assets, systems and staff training/development) in accordance with Parks Victoria's policies, procedures and objectives.

You must have a sound understanding of project management and of the goals and priorities of the work. You will report directly to the Manager Regional Operations but may take direction from the Project Sponsor depending on the specific project complexity/focus and requirements.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Extensive experience in Project Management.
  • Demonstrated high-level judgement and analytical skills, supported by experience in problem solving and decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience in engagement and stakeholder management is required. Experience partnering with Traditional Owners is highly desirable.
  • Experience in provision of high-level expert and technical advice and support.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
