About the branch

The Operations Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's state-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Regional Project Coordinator, your primary focus will be to provide high level expert support and advice to the Regional Director in the end to end management of the regional business plan, regional projects and reporting. You will be the key lead between the district and regional teams for defined capital and non-capital projects. You will work closely with the Regional Director, District Managers, Area Chief Rangers, Project Managers and other Project Coordinators on nominated projects and programs as required. You will have a sound understanding of project management and of the goals and priorities of the work. As the Regional Project Coordinator, you will report directly to the Manager Regional Operations but may take direction from the Project Sponsor depending on the specific project complexity/focus and requirements.

This role is required to maintain effective internal and external relationships in the delivery of projects. You must have experience in and a thorough understanding of project management and procurement procedures and be able to prioritise, track and report effectively on the implementation of the work. 

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Science and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is preferable
  • Extensive experience in Project Management, development of project plans and managing the implementation of complex projects
  • Demonstrated high level judgement and analytical skills, supported by experience in problem solving and decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong internal and external relationships and partnerships
  • A current employee Working with Children Check is required.
