Deliver quality training, assessment and support to our volunteers and Units in North East Victoria.

WHO WE ARE:

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities.  We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.

ROLE SUMMARY: 

This role will deliver competency based training and assessment programs, provide support and coaching to volunteer trainers/assessors and maintain volunteer training and assessment records to meet VICSES RTO compliance and VICSES OHS standards.

The position being offered is a VPS 3.1, Full Time, Ongoing position. VICSES are anticipating a reorganisation which could impact and change this position.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ensure VICSES maintains a standard of best practice by coordinating and applying contemporary vocational and education training and assessment techniques for the implementation, delivery and administration of competency based training programs to ensure volunteers are equipped for operational readiness within the Region.

Support the Region to maintain a level of Operational Readiness by monitoring specified Units' competencies on TRAIN and support the Unit to develop plans to reduce training gaps in Operational Capability Information Framework (OCIF) as applied to the Units and Regional deployment needs.

Contribute to the Region's ability to provide an appropriate response capacity by advising, coaching, supervising and monitoring Unit Trainers in the delivery of the Unit training plan, ensuring delivery adheres to VICSES OHS standards and training assessment process.

Support compliance to VICSES RTO status by participating moderation activities, quality assurance, and validation of assessment materials and identification of trends, issues and benefits. Provide quarterly reports to State Training via the Regional Manager on the delivery of Training activities against the Unit and Regional Training plans.
