About our Women’s Program at Monash Health

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.


Our maternity service is the largest maternity provider in Victoria providing care to over 9,000 women each year across three hospitals: Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong and Casey. Monash Women's provides maternity care for well women and women with more complex and specialty needs.

Monash Women’s Maternity Service at MMC, provides comprehensive care to all pregnant women, managing pregnancies and maternal conditions that range from very low risk to extreme high risk. The Antenatal Care Centre and the Perinatal Care Centre, have newly established models, provided by experienced midwives, Obstetric Registrars and Consultants. The team structure incorporates specific aspects of care depending on maternal and fetal requirements. Provided are tertiary level ultrasounds, Fetal surveillance and Fetal Diagnostic, care for mothers with complex health concerns, babies with developmental challenges or growth issues, multiple pregnancies, and babies requiring in utero procedures.

Our NEWLY expanded and refurbished Birth Suites, Pregnancy Assessment areas and Bereavement room ensures women and family centered care, with midwives able to provide one to one care for women in established labour.

The Maternity Ward provided a multidisciplinary team environment where midwives work alongside, lactation consultants, physiotherapists, Neonatal medical and nursing specialists. Working in the Maternity ward you will care for high risk Antenatal women including those in the Young Women’s Team and Alcohol and Drug Pregnancy care teams.

Interested staff can work towards gaining experience in other specialist maternity areas including Extended Postnatal care.

About the Role

We are excited to announce that we have multiple opportunities to work across these services and have the benefit of a full scope of Maternity Practice, including Birth Suite and Pregnancy Assessment, Antenatal Clinic and Postnatal Care.

All positions are ongoing, both part time and full time opportunities available. All contract require commitment to a rotating roster across a 7 days and all shifts.

What you need:

  • FSEP level 3 Practitioner Certification

  • Proven experience across Maternity Services

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Australian working rights
