About the role



An opportunity exists on the palliative care ward at Wantirna Health for an experienced registered nurse.  We are a holistic team and work closely with allied health professionals to not only meet the needs of our patients, but those of their families and broader communities. We take pride in going above and beyond to support those impacted by the loss of our patients; working to meet the needs of families and loved ones left behind. We recently received advice from the Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) via the University of Wollongong, that our ward exceeded 19 of the 20 benchmarks developed for palliative care patient, family and carer outcomes.



This is a part-time ongoing position, 0.8 EFT over a rotating roster.



About you 



To be successful in this role you should possess:




  • Completed a Graduate Nurse Year  (this is non-negotiable)

  • Current valid registration with      AHPRA 

  • Current experience nursing in palliative care setting

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills

  • An understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail

  • Strong commitment to high quality patient care

  • Great organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and trouble shoot problems effectively

  • A positive and proactive attitude and be work as a team

  • An adaptable and approachable demeanour
