Haemodialysis Registered Nurse

RMH Kidney Care Service is one of the largest providers of dialysis services in Australia. Our in-centre unit, 6 West, provides inpatient and outpatient haemodialysis. We also provide plasma exchange, not only for acute patients but also for our ABO incompatible transplant programme.



This in-centre position offers an excellent career opportunity for a Registered Nurse with renal experience who has a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality patient care and education. Working within our supportive team, this position will allow the successful candidate to further develop his/her clinical skills and to contribute to the ongoing advancement of our service.



Your success in this role, will be in your ability to:



  • Provide high quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team

  • Recognise the Registered Nurse responsibilities for delegation of nursing care

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for any delegated activities to an Enrolled Nurse

  • Provide junior staff, graduates and students with appropriate supervision, training and instruction in accordance with Melbourne Health policy and procedures

  • Support and promote preceptorship including undertaking the preceptor role

  • Contribute to the development of all staff including new and casual staff to the area

  • Ensure delivery of patient centred safe and effective care


Your Contribution



  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team

  • Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care

  • Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills
    High motivation and willingness to learn

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of reliability and professional conduct

  • Minimum 3 years Acute Post registration experience

  • Experience in haemodialysis desirable
