Neonatal Services - Registered Post graduate Nurse

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital for Women (MHW) we are a collaborative and progressive team with close working relationships between nursing and medical groups. We have access to modern technologies and medical strategies to ensure we provide excellent clinical care.

Fantastic opportunity to join our Tertiary Public Hospital. Our 61 bed Neonatal Unit comprises of a Level 6 NICU and a Special Care Nursery. We have a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness, and would love you to join us!

  • Located at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg as part of a large medical precinct, well accessed by public transport
  • As a new member of the team, you will be supported through a comprehensive orientation program.
  • Provide and implement high quality individualised clinical care for premature and sick babies and their families
  • Play an integral role in a motivated clinical team with a strong family centred care approach
  • Options for full-time or part-time permanent positions
  • Involves working across all rostered shifts, 8 or 12 hour shifts available
  • Or permanent night duty offered with an annual 4 week rotation onto days
  • Salary is in line with the Enterprise Agreement and will be based on your years of experience starting at $40.39 - $46.86

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of Post Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive or equivalent
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate evidence based practice within a clinical setting and be committed to ongoing professional development, clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services.
