Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy 

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join the Chemotherapy Day Unit on a Casual Basis.

Reporting to the Chemotherapy Nurse Unit Manager the successful applicant will play an important role in delivering cancer care of patients diagnosed with malignancies.

The Chemotherapy Day Unit also encompasses a wide variety of medical infusions and procedures, including but not limited to infusional treatment for Crohns disease, Multiple sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis. Medical procedures include abdominal paracentesis, bone marrow biopsies, venesections and intravesical treatments.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in cancer care nursing

  • Provide high level care co-ordination of patients with a malignancy

  • Demonstrate a high level professional engagement and communication skills with a number of clinicians in a multidisciplinary team

  • A commitment to the National Standards and compliance with the ACQSHC National standards

  • Sound clinical assessment, decision making and problem solving skills

  • Work independently and within a team

  • Demonstrate proficient computer skills

  • Be flexible and adaptable

  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development for yourself and others.
