About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Day Oncology Unit in a part time position until August 2023.

The position will assist in the provision of a range of treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trials in our 9 chair Day Oncology Unit located on level 1 in the South West Regional Cancer Centre. Directly opposite the Warrnambool Base Hospital in Ryot Street, the SWRCC is a state of the art building opened in 2016 to provide many aspects of cancer care all in the one place.

With views overlooking Lady Bay, the Day Oncology Unit operates four days per week with Specialist Oncology Nursing staff working alongside Medical Specialists and Oncology Pharmacists who are all passionate about providing personalised and coordinated patient care.

What you bring

  • Must be a Registered Nurse holding a current AHPRA registration
  • A commitment to safe patient centred care
  • Clinical skills and knowledge that positively impacts on the patient experience
  • Ability to positively collaborate  and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients/family/carers, visitors and staff
  • Evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development
  • Competency in chemotherapy administration will be highly regarded
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications is desirable
