An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse in our Surgical and Procedural Medicine department.
Ward 8 West is a 32-bed general surgery, liver transplant, intestinal transplant and gastroenterology ward. Our general surgical unit provides expertise in hepatobiliary surgery. This patient population comes from approximately 75% Emergency surgery and the critical care area’s which creates an acute and dynamic working environment. The gastroenterology unit cares for those with advanced and complex liver disease, as well as those with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. TPN and fistula management is also a key part of care provided on 8 West. The Victorian Liver Transplant Unit provides liver transplantation services for all of Victoria, Tasmania, and parts of Southern New South Wales and performed Australia’s first intestinal transplant in 2010.
