An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse to join the Anaesthesia Nursing department.

Permanent Full-time &/or Part-time Registered Nurses (Division One) with qualifications/experience in Anaesthesia nursing.

The Anaesthesia Department at the Austin Health is an integral part of the highly skilled team in the Operating Suite. It delivers a service to 11 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms and 2 Endoscopy rooms including Cardiac, Liver Transplants, General, Orthopaedics, Thoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Paediatric, ENT, Gynae, as well as external departments ie: Radiology, MRI/PET, Cardiac Cath Lab.

To be successful in this role the qualities and key responsibilities will include:

  • Registered Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)   
  • Commitment to quality, best practise and environmental safety  
  • Anaesthesia clinical experience and knowledge 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form 
  • Commitment to further self-development and education 
  • Current computer skills and knowledge e.g. E-mail, Microsoft Office, Cerner  
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements 
  • Patient/customer approach to care delivery 
  • Willingness to assist as requested in other wards/units 
  • Commitment to assist with orientation of new staff 
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team 
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
