About the Team


The Specialist Palliative Care & Evaluation Unit (HEU) is an 18 bed unit comprising of 10 Specialist Palliative Care beds and 8 GEM Beds. We provide Specialist Palliative and GEM Care to Patients and their families within the Loddon Mallee Region.


The Palliative Care Unit provides Patient centred, Specialist Palliative Care focusing on Complex Symptom Management, Discharge Planning and End of Life care. Our Multi-disciplinary team works closely with the Bendigo Community Palliative Care Team and the Loddon Mallee Consultancy Team to ensure high Standard of Evidence Based Care.


The GEM Unit provides Patient centred Care for People predominantly over the age of 65 requiring medical evaluation and Management. Together with the Multi-disciplinary Team members, our unit provides Complex discharge planning to ensure safe transition to preferred place of Care.



About the Position


Registered Nurses are an important member of the health care team at Bendigo Health. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with team members to provide high quality care to patients/ clients and residents. The incumbent must operate within their scope of practice for the setting and specialty, and deliver care in accordance with best practice standards. They will also display a personal approach which is positive, respectful, collaborative and helpful.
