Your team

The Emergency Department (ED) sees around 51,000 patients each year, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in regional Victoria and busier than some metropolitan emergency departments. The ED is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals including emergency medicine specialist doctors, critical care trained nurses, nurse practitioners specialising in emergency care and physiotherapists with expertise in urgent conditions, supported technical and clerical staff. The Bendigo Emergency Department is comprised of 14 centrally monitored acute cubicles, three state of the art resuscitation bays, five fast track consultation rooms and a 12 bed independent Short Stay Unit.


Your impact

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high standard of nursing care in consultation with the health care team

  • Provide safe customer focussed patient care in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Ensure emergency department key performance indicators are met in relation to time to treatment and admission criteria

Your qualification, skills/experience and qualities required to succeed

We are looking for Registered Nurses who have the following skills and experience:

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse with AHPRA

  • Previous emergency or acute nursing experience

  • Understanding of emergency department KPIs

  • Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
