Hospital in the Home

About Monash Health

As the largest public healthcare services provider in Victoria, Monash Health provides integrated health care services available to over 1.3 million people, representing 32% of the population of greater Melbourne.  Further extending our newborn and children’s specialities, in early 2017 we opened a new 230 bed dedicated Children’s Hospital, co-located with Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. Victoria’s largest healthcare service and one of only four accredited Academic Health Science Centres in Australia.

About Us

Hospital in the Home (HITH) is the provision of acute care to public hospital patients who have their treatment continued in the comfort of their own home. This is an alternative to an inpatient stay.

HITH provides a holistic and individualised approach to its patients. All patient care provided aims to meet the needs of the patient and their families. The case mix of patients include conditions from a medical, surgical and oncology/haematology background. We also deliver chemotherapy treatment.

About you

As an experienced RN with minimum 3-5 years of Acute Hospital experience, you will be working closely with the site HITH coordinator to support the operational planning and delivery of patient care in clinics and in a community setting. You will have demonstrated skills in an acute setting as well as desirable experience in chemotherapy, complex wound management, ED or ICU.

With your excellent communication skills and caring manner, you will be happy driving to patients' homes to provide outstanding care, so a full driver's licence is essential for this role.

What’s in it for you?

  • Work in a supportive team with an excellent team culture;

  • Avenues to further develop your Leadership and Project Management skills;

  • Mentorship and Career guidance;

  • Educational support to further your Acute Clinical Skills and expand your knowledge base; and

  • Support to attend relevant conferences and courses.

Our full-time employees have the opportunity to accrue a day off every four weeks.  In addition, you will have access to benefits including salary packaging options that increase your take-home pay, access to onsite subsidised staff car parking and a comprehensive Employee Wellbeing Program.

Monash Health recognises the value of equal employment opportunity and is committed to patient safety and promoting fairness, equity and diversity in the workplace. At Monash Health we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and work to our six guiding principles.

What you need

  • Current AHPRA registration;

  • Proven clinical experience;

  • Relevant working visa;

  • Relevant qualifications; and

  • Full Drivers Licence.

Applications will only be accepted via the Monash Health online Mercury System only. Email applications will not be considered.
