Our Medical Services at Western Health are currently seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our team.  Medical Services at Western Health offers a wide range of services including General Medicine, Gastroenterology, Mental Health and Special Medicine (Neurology, Stroke, Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology and Dermatology). Our Medical Services operates at a variety of sites and is currently offering the following exciting opportunities.

• Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing


• Registration with AHPRA


• Minimum 12 months working experience within an Australian hospital setting (not including placements)


• Demonstrate the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team


• A commitment to high quality and ongoing to maintain a culture of patient centred care.


• Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills

2D has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic, caring and adaptive registered Nurse to join the supportive team on a permanent part time basis.

Ward 2D is located at Footscray hospital.  The ward consists of 20 beds and it specialises in Respiratory, Infectious disease, Gastroenterology and Covid Nursing.  You will be part of a dynamic and supportive clinical environment that supports patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

If you value a positive patient experience and thrive in a team environment then this position could be for you.  This position is offered on a rotating roster of Days, Evenings and Night shifts.

To be successful for this role you will have:

• Recent acute and complex care experience


• Preferably with respiratory and infectious diseases nursing experience.

3E is located at Sunshine Hospital and is a 32 – bed inpatient ward that offers specialised care for patients under Neurology, Stroke and General Medicine. The NUM and all Registered Nurses of 3E work closely in a team nursing model which forms a key part of strong multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing, allied health and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.

3B has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, dynamic, positive and caring Registered Nurse to join our team on permanent full time or part time position.

Ward 3B is located at Western Health's Footscray Campus. The ward is going through an expansion from 23 to 28 beds, and cares for acute aged care patients. You will be part of a clinical team that provides a supportive and approachable working environment. Clinical educators are also available to provide support and education to the team.

Our team works closely together to provide a safe environment for patients and staff, where you will have the opportunity to make a positive and rewarding contribution to patient care.  If you are passionate about your career development, experiencing working in a dynamic environment and ensuring best care is provided to Western Health then this position could be for you.

To be successful for this role you will have: 

• Excellent time management skills, able to adapt easily to a changing environment


• Ability to work AM, PM & Nights shifts


• Previous Acute Aged care experience is desirable

2E at Western Health is seeking caring, highly motivated, dedicated and positive Registered Nurses to join the team.  2E is a 32 bed unit that cares for the following specialities - Oncology/Haematology/Endocrinology/Gastroenterology/Nephrology. The ward focuses on providing high standard of care for all acutely ill patients with complex needs within the Western Region.

Our Unit has a strong focus on a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care in order to minimise the impact of cancer and other complex conditions on our patients and their families.   High standards of nursing care are achieved through nursing staff striving for excellence in their practice therefore, professional development play an important role in maintaining these standards.

To be successful for this role you will have:

• Chemotherapy trained (preferable)

• A commitment to high quality, safe and person centred patient care

Registered Nurse – Bank

Bank nurses at Western Health are managed by the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) and are able to work across a variety of wards at Western Health. Bank nurses are required to be available a minimum of one shift a fortnight and are able to pick up shift vacancies as they arise. Shift vacancies are sent out by our allocations team and work opportunities and shift offers will depend on the organisations vacancies each day. Working on Bank provides nurses a great opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills and to experience a variety of different work places.

• Able to commit to a minimum of one shift a fortnight


• Willing to work across a variety of clinical settings and wards at Western Health
