About the role:

We are a 16 bed unit that supports young people ranging from neonates to those 18 years of age. We care for paediatric patients with a wide range of presentations, including surgical (general surgery, ENT, plastics and orthopaedics) and medical. We also have a speciality adolescent eating disorder unit.

Our team regularly (but, always voluntarily!) participates in fundraising efforts. These activities are multi-fold: they provide the opportunity to engage in team building activities, and also raise money for special equipment for the ward. This story showcases some of our new equipment.

About you:

You are dedicated, empathetic and adaptable. You are an experienced paediatric nurse with a kind, friendly and bubbly personality. You enjoy a fast-paced environment where each day is different. You’re confident managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously yet simultaneously as part of a team. To be successful in this role you should possess:

• Current registration with AHPRA (essential)


• Successful completion of a nurse graduate program (essential)


• Recent paediatric nursing experience (within Australia)


• Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded


• An empathetic and personable demeanour


• A strong commitment to high quality care


• The ability to work as part of a diverse team


• Excellent communication and organisational skills
