About the role

Full- and part-time opportunities exist on the palliative care unit at Wantirna Health for experienced and compassionate registered nurses with palliative care experience.  We are a holistic unit and work closely with a team of allied health professionals. We strive to go above and beyond to meet the needs not only of our patients, but those of their families and broader communities. We recently received advice from the Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) via the University of Wollongong, that our unit has exceeded 19 of the 20 benchmarks developed for palliative care patient, family and carer outcomes.

About you 

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Completed a Graduate Nurse Year  (this is non-negotiable)

  • Current valid registration with AHPRA 

  • Current experience nursing in palliative care setting

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills

  • An understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail

  • Strong commitment to high quality patient care

  • Great organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and trouble shoot problems effectively

  • A positive and proactive attitude and be work as a team

  • An adaptable and approachable demeanour
