About Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Unit in Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS)

The Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS) offers assessment and treatment for infants, children and adolescents from 0-18 years in the southern region.
The Perinatal & Infant Inpatient Unit (PIIU) is a six bed Inpatient unit providing mental health interventions to Postnatal and Antenatal clients (expectant mothers)
About the Role
As a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse (PEN) or Psychiatric Registered Nurse (PRN) you will be required to work as part of a consistent and therapeutic team, providing mother and infants (under 1 years of age) along with their families within an emotionally/ physically safe and healthy environment in which they can participate in treatment and nurture the relationship with their baby. You will also be an active participant and involved in all aspects of the group program including attending in house training and education on Perinatal and infant mental health. Our model of care is one component of the broader ELMHS clinical model to give families a smooth transition between acute and community specialist mental health care.
Currently we have a full time, permanent opportunity for either a Registered Psychiatric Nurse or a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse to work with our PIIU team.
All positions work across a 24/7 rotating roster.
About You
As either a PEN or RPN, you keen to further utilise your experience in mental health, are dedicated to providing best patient-centred care and recovery-focused care to mothers and infants in the antenatal and post-natal period. You are also committed to safe best practice & quality care at all times. You are also team driven and enjoy being a valuable part of a collaborative, passionate and small dynamic team.
